A year in the works

This show has been a work in progress for over a year now. I developed the idea after watching many YouTube videos and being intrigued by how they could "move" all the lights around. It was a huge undertaking, but I wanted to push myself and see what could come out of it. Now, x hours later, x lights later.... this is what it is. How do you control all the lights?

We use a program called Light-o-Rama, the lights (all 3,000+) are connected to this controller box via extension cables. There is a program on the computer where you customize every second of the song and say what lights you want on at a specific time. Not only can you just have the lights stay on, you can make them twinkle, shimmer, fade and more.

Why did you pick The Chainsmokers?

I currently go to UCF and they performed there a year or so ago, I was able to film their show as part of my job on campus and I fell in love with their set and show. They are talented, hard working performers who have been very successful this past year. It's a tribute to their success and dedication to the art of music. Also, their songs go well with light shows!

What hours do you run the light show?

The show runs from 6 - 9:30 p.m. everyday. 

How do I listen to the show?

We set up an FM transmitter that transmits the light show music over the airwaves. Right now, all you have to do is turn your radio to 97.1 FM in front of our house and you will hear and see the magic.
